Our Love Story

Landon and Karly met in their ninth-grade year of high school. As two busy and involved students living on opposite sides of Michigan, they never gave much mind to each other. They met for the first time at a cross-country meet. Landon was running at a Shepherd High School cross-country meet while Karly was attending as a spectator watching her friends. Karly saw Landon on the cross-country course running as she was cheering with her old cross-country team. Knowing he was quite a stud and wanted by every girl in northern Michigan she went home and friended him on Instagram. Through the years of COVID-19, Karly and Landon didn't pay any attention to each other. They would see each other once in a while at homeschool group events but never managed to talk to one another. After the world turned back on Landon and Karly each went their separate ways for school. Landon went into his Junior year at NMCS playing varsity basketball, and Karly began her senior year at Alma High School running varsity cross country. Karly and Landon reconnected after several years through Snapchat of all things and began a long-distance friendship. Through messages and phone calls their friendship began, though Karly was adamant that they would never be lovers. After a couple of months of a solid friendship over the phone, Landon asked Karly to hang out in person. She declared that it would most definitely not be a date but went along to have some fun. What began as friends meeting for dinner, ended in an incredible first date. Texas roadhouse and ice skating led to Karly falling on her face as Landon scooped her up and held her hand sparking the first bit of romance that would lead to a lifetime! From the first date began two years of long distance and a love story of a lifetime. From high school sweethearts their love story stood the test as Landon ventured to Northwestern Lineman College in Florida, and to Karly at Alma. Spending a year full of plane tickets, beach days, and many facetimes, Karly and Landon finally reached the end to their beginning of forever when Landon proposed on July 28th, 2023. Since then, there has been much laughter, many tears and so much love for these two high school sweethearts venturing into the promise of forever.
