Our Engagement Story

So many people have asked me about our engagement and how it happened so I figured it was time I filled you in!

At the beginning of summer I had booked a trip to go south and visit landon after being apart for several months since his college graduation.

The end of July came and I was ecstatic to go visit him….just for my car to break down 2 days before I was supposed to leave for the airport

Not knowing he was gonna propose I was just plain bummed thinking I was gonna have to cancel, but poor landon was in a tizzy!

Thankfully dear ole dad saved the day and offered to take me to the airport! So on July 28 at 5am, we headed to the airport and I went off to Florida…….not knowing that as I boarded the plane my dad was about to get the biggest phone call of all time

After what I’m sure was the longest 10 minutes of his life, landon got the blessing from my dad, and planned to propose the same day all the while I was in an airplane on my way to Orlando!!!

Our sweet moms( Alicia Crowe  and Denise Ochampaugh) began calling and coordinating behind the scenes early that morning planning to possibly both fly down the same day and help make sure things ran smoothly!

After a morning of crazy that I didn’t even know about I landed in Orlando and landon picked me up and we were off for breakfast and a hike before what was gonna be the BEST day of my life!

After breakfast we went to the coolest hiking spot to spend the afternoon before we got ready for dinner. We went to Devils Den where we snorkeled in a beautiful cavern full of crystal blue water and fish! It was one of the coolest places I’ve ever been! After our little snorkeling and hiking adventure, landon decided it would be a bright idea to chase me all the way back to the car with a lizard! It’s safe to say I wasn’t impressed with that one

From there we went to get ready for an elegant dinner at a local steak house that Landon had scoped out the week before! I was a hot mess worried about my wet and wavy hair and no blow dryer before dinner, but that was nothing compared to poor landon

We got ready and our moms kept asking me what I was gonna wear and text landon how it was going! We took a couple pictures then went to dinner! Landon was as cool as a cucumber the entire time, I never would have guessed what he had planned!

We both ordered a steak and enjoyed our dinner reminiscing on the last year we had spent together, and then landon excused himself to the restroom (where he really was just sneaking out to talk to the photographer and make sure everything was set!)

After an amazing dinner, where landon downed his ENTIRE steak we headed out to the back of the restaurant to take a photo. Landon had me prop up my phone and take a photo, just to turn me around and get down on one knee!

Just before he did so, he got the ring stuck in his coat pocket and told me to wait a second

Then those next few minutes went in a blur as it felt as if time stood still, as I looked my best

in the eye so full of love and said YES to our forever

How landon managed to get down on one knee so gracefully in skinny jeans is still a mystery to us but the entire day and love of that moment couldn’t have been more perfect!

I had no idea it was coming, no suspicion at all so to say it was a surprise is definitely no understatement!

I am so thankful looking back at these photos and reminiscing at the beginning of our forever and the pages we have yet to fill! God has been so good to us and that day was nothing more than perfection!

I can’t wait to be ℳ𝓇 𝒶𝓃𝒹 ℳ𝓇𝓈 ℒ𝒶𝓃𝒹ℴ𝓃 𝒪𝒸𝒽𝒶𝓂𝓅𝒶𝓊𝑔𝒽！！
