A Beautiful Beginning: America's Turning Point

I walked outside for lunch today and just felt something in the air, literally.

As I looked around me there was nothing special in sight or surrounding me, but there was a crispness I hadn't felt before.

This last week a tragedy occurred. A young man, husband and father lost his life. Assassinated on a college campus for no other reason than speaking truth in a generation stuck in a lie. A wife lost her husband, two children lost their father and America gained a martyr.

My mind has not rested since tragically seeing a video of a young man's neck being blown to pieces dripping with the blood of sacrifice. My stomach hasn't settled; my dreams plague me with the reality of the evil and my heart remains shattered grieving a man I never even met. His name is Charlie Kirk.

Waking up this morning was filled with another day of grief, finding a way to truly process what has been going on in the dark world that surrounds us. My heart is broken and shattered longing for a place that isn't my home. I can't wait for the Lord to return. But I can't help but marvel in a way at the hope and wonder that is developing as a nation grieves.

Young people are rising up, chapters on campuses are opening, revivals and record church attendance is skyrocketing. For the first time in quite awhile a generation is rising up to pass on the torch of the movement that Charlie Kirk started. And as I stepped outside this September afternoon I couldn't help but feel a shift in the wind, a turning of the tides. In the middle of something so catastrophic and devastating the voice of the Lord whispers, "I am not finished yet!"

What a wonder. My heart won't ever quite be the same and neither will this generation. Those who were to afraid to speak are finally vocalizing and those just curious to learn about the gospel are aching and thirsting for truth. And to know that the Lord is working in my generation.

For years I have been absolutely terrified to have kids, wanting to wait years and years. For months I have wrestled with feeling useless after leaving behind my full ride scholarship to pursue marriage, and finally a turning point awakens my generation in America and we are ready to rise. I am ready to rival in the walls of my own home. My heart still yearns and aches for what we lost, yet in the same breathe I am overwhelmed in confidence that the Lord almighty is on the move and my generation is finally ready to rise up to the call. And in my own life, loving my husband and serving God's kingdom and prepare for a family is not only a desire but an awakening to bring revival to the next generation of Americans.

As Charlie Kirk said, "You should get married as young as possible, and have as many kids as possible. Period. You should reject the siren sounds of modernity!"

Well Americans, this is our mission to revive the American family because the battlefield starts at home. And once we are secure there, we take up the armor of God and take a stand and go out into the world and make a change.

As broken as these days are and as devastating as this news has been, there will be revival in America and a new beginning. I can feel it in the air friends.

Today is a new beginning.....America this is our turning point.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12: 1-3
