Judgement

““Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭

I’ve never really considered myself to be a judgmental person… But for some reason, the Lord has been lying this verse heavily on my heart the last couple of weeks.

In the day and age of social media, how easy is it to judge each other?

“What an ugly shirt!

”

“They need to to take better care of themselves.”

“Uuugh she’s so high maitnence”

“I just can’t believe they started that business!.”

“Must be nice!”

All of these things, and so many more flood our minds as we endlessly scroll social media.

How often do you catch yourself saying these things about others…especially in your mind?

“ Do not judge, for you, too, will be judged!”

Who am I to sit back and never judge another person with all of the faults, and flaws of my own. I’ve always been very conscious of how I talk about others, or treat others, or even think of them in my mind.

But here’s what I’m learning….

〰️It’s so easy to judge others without looking in your own mirror…..especially through a screen.

〰️Judging lead to gossip of the ugliest kind.

〰️Judging is usually a mask to the unresolved judgments yourself.

〰️And lastly I am a lowly sinner who is worth a piece of dust because I am dead and my sin when I stand before Christ. But because I am washed in the blood and covered in the grace of our God, I don’t have to face the wrath of his judgment. And neither are others to be subject

to our judgments.

So before we judge one another, let’s learn to first love one another! 🖤

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12: 1-3
