Leave and Cleave

Leaving and cleaving.

This burden and lesson of trusting the Lord in this season in a deeper way has been a learning curve.

In the days of college , I constantly prayed that God would lead me to his plan and away from my own. Learning to take up my cross and follow Him turned into  a little over a year later saying goodbye to college, cross country, and every other plan that I thought my future held.

I find myself in a new season, ready to be united with a husband. A season where leaving has been a new command. A season of moving to a new place and finding a new community. A season of goodbyes and goodness filling these last several days.

The lessons learned in leaving and cleaving these last few months have been both beautiful and burdening. Where both pain and praise have collided. And where grace and gratitude run parallel.

The love showered upon this season is unmatched. Even the way my church family and community has welcomed landon with open arms in ways I never expected moving away. The pain it brings to leave behind your family brings me to tears, but how wonderful and exciting it is to go and build your own.

Leave, and cleave.

God has blessed this season in more ways than I can count, but these numbered days left in the arms of my family and close in community are something I never thought I’d leave and never want to take for granted.

Thank you to everyone who has said a prayer, sent a card, or asked me to coffee. The love I’ve been blessed with here is unmatched. I will miss my family, friends and this community no doubt, but the seeds planted in the season are about to blossom in the next and for that I can’t wait!

As Christian’s we have a stunning capacity to do hard things! And if you are following God’s plan, you know that is so!

This has been one of the most beautiful, but hard seasons yet and these pictures barely capture and encompass its beauty!

Here’s to persevering and praising God in both the pain and promise of His plan. Blessed and beautiful is this season and thank you to everyone who played part in it🤍

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12: 1-3
